William J. Brooks, age 83 of Heiskell, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in Knoxville. He enjoyed farming, working in his garden and watching TV. Joe was born December 1, 1929 in Heiskell, TN to the late Joseph Shade and Libby Wright Brooks. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Brooks; brothers, Ralph, Kyle, and Ira Brooks; grandson, Christopher Grindstaff.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 24th from 1-2PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. A memorial service will follow with Rev. Joe Copeland officiating.
