Walter "Dick" Fowler Wells, age 83 of Lake City, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 20, 2011.
Dick was born on November 23, 1927 in Anderson County, Tennessee to the late Walter and Etta Vowell Wells.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dick was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having been stationed in Germany. Dick retired from Dodge Main in Hamtramck, Michigan. Dick was a past member of the Medford Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of the Coal Creek Masonic Lodge #492. While able, Dick enjoyed attending various gospel singings throughout the area.
In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his Daughter, Sherialee Wells; Brothers, Bill Wells and Van Troy Wells; Sisters, Viola Shelton and Mary Perry.

A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Tuesday, February 22 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. JJ Patterson and Rev. Lynn Mowery officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10:30AM and go in funeral procession to the Sunset Cemetery in Clinton with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Soup Kitchen at the Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements.
