Walter S. Hillman , 61, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday March 15, 2023, at his home in Clinton, TN.  He was born on July 17, 1961, in Gary, IN to parents Donald and Nancy Hillman.  He was the 4th of 5 children and was raised in a military family.  He graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego, CA. He worked as an auto mechanic for 30 years in San Diego before moving briefly to Yoder, CO and finally to Clinton, TN in 2010, where he worked as a delivery driver for O'Reilly.

Walter will be remembered as being a 'nice guy', a 'guy's guy', and a 'fix-it guy'. He lived his life helping others. Once you became friends, you were adopted into his family. He spent his free time fishing, golfing, fixing things and watching anything with John Wayne.  Like John Wayne, he lived and did things his way. One of a kind.

Left to mourn his passing are his siblings, Debby Hillman, David Hillman, Mary Cross and husband Ernest, Sue Hessling, and husband Jimmie; uncle/aunts, Bob and Gwen Hillman, Noreen Shinkle and J P Hillman; nieces and nephews, Alicia/Nick Rodgers (Cailey), James and Aubrey Savant (Silas), Jared and Jessica Hessling, Joseph Hessling and Casey Cross, Andrew/Meghan (Caden, Colter, Kenna), Natalie/Chris (Dylan, Blake and Bryce) who all thought he was a great uncle; cousins, Amy Veldkamp , Steve and Sherry Crichton; best buddies, Dickey, Art and Tom -  to name a few;  first love, Tracy Moore-Hargrove; special friend, Pam Carswell and family.

Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Nancy Hillman; grandparents Walter/Eleanor Hillman, Samuel/Mary Neill; uncles Wayne/Norma Neil, Vic Hillman, Tommy Hillman, Jim Hillman, Sam/Maryanne Veldkamp; aunt, Barbara Crichton.

Walter Hillman will be buried with his mother, Nancy Hillman in the family plot in San Diego. Services will be private.
