Von Compton, age 78, of Fayetteville, GA formerly of Clinton, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  Von was born December 13, 1946 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to the late Robert and Helen Reed Compton.  He retired from Delta Airlines as a computer operator after 35 years if service.  He loved spending time outdoors, playing with his dog, and spending time with friends.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brother, Rodney Compton and sister-in-law, Inez Compton; aunts, Nadine Perez, Dorothy Shrader, and Marlyn Robbins. Von also had a special lifelong friend, Conrad Jones who passed away days before him.

He is survived by the love of his life, Julie Hutcheson; brother, David Compton; aunt, Mary Kay Edwards; uncle, Dick Reed; nephew, Robert D. Compton; also several nieces, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.  His funeral service will follow in the chapel with Matt Reed officiating.  His graveside will immediately follow at Anderson Memorial Garden.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
