Vivian LaVergne Waddell , age 87, of Caryville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24,2014 at the Norris Health and Rehab Center. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Caryville.
LaVergne came from Waverly, Tennessee to work in the Secret City where met and married Fred Waddell. Together they ran Waddell Farms until they opened Waddell Supply Company. Years later she worked as office manager of Clinton Office Supply until her health began to decline. LaVergne traveled extensively to Europe, Nova Scotia and many parts of the U.S. She had a passion for books and wild flowers and she helped many students with wild flower projects.
She is preceded in death by husband, Fred Waddell; parents, Aubrey Glenton and Clarence Latimer Jackson; brother, Bill Jackson and sister, Shirley Damesworth.
LaVergne is survived by,

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 5-7 PM with the funeral service to follow at 7:00PM with the Rev. TD Hooker officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 10:30AM and go in funeral procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery for an 11:00AM interment. www.holleygamblefh.com
