Viola S. Brooks, age 83, of Heiskell, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Tennova Healthcare North. Viola enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Viola was born July 22, 1929 in Blanche, Kentucky to the late John and Ellen Smith. In addition to her parents Viola is preceded in death by brothers, Arnold and Lloyd Smith; sisters, Leena, Mary, Ruby, Virgie, and Jane; grandson, Christopher Grindstaff.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Leonard Goins and Rev. Billy Moore officiating. The burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the Ridenour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Holley Gamble Funeral Home, P.O.
