Vernon "Gene" Dagley, age 88, of Clinton went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center. He was a resident of Anderson County since 1959. He was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church, Clinton Alpha Lodge #376 F.&A.M., and Clinton American Legion. Gene was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was educated in watchmaking in Memphis, TN and a watchmaker for 60 years. He later retired from Kimballs Jewelry in Oak Ridge. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, sports and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by parents, William & Susan Etta Dagley; brothers, Buford "Boots", Everette, and Leo Dagley; sisters, Estelle and Ruby Smith, Juanita Harness, Willetta Gibbs; niece, Ann Sharp; great nephew, Keith Smith

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Michael Thompson officiating.
