Verna Lee Johnston Brown, age 86 of Clinton passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Briarcliff Healthcare Center in Oak Ridge. She was born October 22, 1925 in Wise County, Virginia. She was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church and worked for several years as cashier at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Brown; parents, Henry Vance & Margaret Jane Raines Johnston; son-in-law, Dr. Henry Hedden; brothers, Edward & Harry Johnston; sister, Agnes Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service at 1:00PM.
