Verlan Silvers Tipton, 88, of Powell, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior February 17, 2016. She was born in North Carolina and was a resident of the Claxton Community. Verlan came to Oak Ridge during the war where she met her husband and lived until moving to Claxton Community. She was employed before retiring at C&S Laundry Dry Cleaners where she was the check in clerk and later worked at the Oak Ridger until its closing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Heiskell, TN. Verlan loved to garden and grow beautiful Iris's. She was preceded in death by her husband Geter Tipton; her mother Zora Silvers; sister Gladys Hylemon.

Grandchildren Spencer Farr, Timothy Farr and Levi Tipton
Great grandchildren Kaleb Farr, Micah Farr and Logan Farr
Brother, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5-7pm Friday, February 19, 2016 with funeral service to follow at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside service will be 11:00am Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. www.holleygamble.com
