Velma "Meg" Cardwell, age 55 of Clinton, began the new year by meeting her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, January 1, 2013. Meg was born September 23, 1957 in Oak Ridge, TN. She had been fighting a battle with cancer for six months. Some say she lost her battle to cancer Tuesday morning, but her family would like to think she won.
Meg was a nurse for Anderson County Head Start and took great pride and pleasure in serving the families of Anderson County. Meg was an active member of Jarnigan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was saved as a teen and has joyfully served the Lord since. Her goal was to always be found doing the good part for the Lord. She was the model Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. As her granddaughter says, "There was nobody better than Nana. Nana knows everything!" Her family is strong in their faith and takes great peace in knowing they will see her again.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Albert and Doris McKamey; grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Anderson, Ed and Velma McKamey; grandson, Bryson Cardwell.
