Obituary


Velma Ruth Bahr, age 76, of Jacksboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Tennova Hospice in Halls. Velma was born on May 7, 1936 to the late Morton and Opal Harness Hatmaker in Anderson County, TN. She was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church of Lafollette. Velma enjoyed quilting and crafts. She donated many of her handmade quilts to children. Velma will be dearly missed.
Velma is survived by

her husband of 25 years: Ralph Bahr; son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Terri Luke; daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Randy Yates; grandson: Dustin Luke Yates and girlfriend Kelli Kazmier; grandson Dakotah Jerimiah Luke; great granddaughter: Laila Isabella Luke; grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and family in Wisconsin and Missouri; and special friends and family in Tennessee: Alice Tackett, Janet Kiser and Charles and Willa Luke.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:15 and go in funeral procession to the Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11:00AM interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church, 636 Demory Road, LaFollette, TN 37766 or Children's Center of the Cumberlands, P.O. Box 4314, Oneida, TN 37841.
