Obituary

Vantrena White Hyden, 72 years, 9 months, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Vantrena was known as Trena to all her family and friends. She was born in Deane, Kentucky to Florida Ellen Meade White and Chester Arthur White on May 24, 1952, as the 6th of 10 children. She was married and devoted to the love of her life, Don Alvin Hyden, who preceded her in death on February 19th of 2022. They had been married for over 50 years.

Trena was blessed with two sons, Joel Christopher Hyden and Barry Scott Hyden, and Daughter-in-Law Laura Hyden, all of Clinton, Tennessee.  She was blessed with three grandchildren, Jackson Hyden, Evelyn Hyden, and Luke Hyden, all of whom were so dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Florida Meade White and Chester Arthur White, Brothers Freeman White, Novel White, Dencil White, and one sister Venissa White. Surviving siblings are Les White of Suffolk, NC, Kenneth White (wife Tish) of Bolivia, NC, Valena White of Deltona, FL, Veechel Bivin (husband Larry) of Franklin, KY. Trena grew up in Deane, Kentucky, and graduated in 1970 from Fleming-Neon High School. She was an honor student and a Junior Homecoming attendant. For college, she attended the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY where she met her future husband Don, the love of her life. She was a supervisor at K-Mart stores in Richmond, IN, and in Clinton, TN. Trena worked many years as a Real Estate agent with Stephenson Realty in Clinton. She was an asset to Faith Christian School in Clinton, TN where she volunteered for many duties from managing the concession stand, keeping score for the basketball games, cooking lunches for the students, grading papers, and helping her husband who taught there. She was a hard worker and helped her sons and husband in building many homes in the Clinton area. She was a member of the Evangelistic Center in Clinton, and in later years, she also attended Second Baptist Church.

Trena was a woman of faith who loved Jesus. She suffered from Macular Degeneration and kidney failure, but her faith never wavered. She knew her Lord would give her sight and make her whole as she was ushered into his kingdom if not on the earth. She had a loving disposition and she frequently told others of her love for them.  She had a fierce love of her family and friends who will miss her kind and loving nature.

Trena was a quiet and beautiful soul, and she has requested that her family and friends honor her request to have a quiet, closed casket graveside service on Monday, March 3rd, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.  Family and friends may gather at the graveside located in Norris Memorial Gardens for her 11:00 A.M. service.
