Tom Russell, 59, of Clinton, TN passed away on August 21, 2024 after a long hard fought battle with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) surrounded by family.

Tom was born November 24, 1964 to Billy Gene Russell and Margarete Russell in Fort Sill, OK.

Tom is survived by his fiancé of 25 years Carla Brewer who also took great care of him during his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. His mother Margarete Russell also known as Omi and brother Bill Russell. Children: Stephen Shipley and husband Todd Shipley with Grandson Cedric Gordon, Danieal Boliver, Jade Russell and spouse Matt Garrett, and Matthew Davis. Nieces and Nephews: Stacey York and husband Jeff, Aaron, Andy, and Amber York. Renee Taylor (the favorite or so she says), Allie Rosenbalm, Canon Martin (the actual favorite), Luke Rosenbalm, and Landrie Rosenbalm. Best friends Steven Harper and Kevin Pebley. And the many more lives he touched in his 59 years.

He is predeceased by: Father Billie Gene Russell, brother John Russell, sister Jenny Bradfield.

Tom was an avid hunter that loved the outdoors, but his greatest hobby was joking with friends and family. His greatest passion in life was being the rock and problem solver for all his family and friends.

Tom found his true work passion when he started his own landscaping business 35 plus years ago. He was also very handy and could fix (or rig) or build anything.

Tom was known as bringing joy and lightening the mood even in the worst situation with his smile and hardly ever being serious by joking, sometimes at inappropriate moments. He would give the shirt off his back, if he actually had one on, to help anyone close to him.

The family will receive friends at Holley Gamble Funeral Home on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 1:00-3:00PM with the funeral service follow in the chapel with Reverend Cody Haynes officiating.
