Thelma Ruth Denny Dail, age 92, a long standing member of the Dutch Valley Community, went to be with her Lord April 15, 2010. Mrs. Dail, a member of Dutch Valley United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening and especially tending her wildflower garden. She was a member of Dutch Valley Home Demonstration Club and was an extraordinary seamstress as evidenced by winning numerous awards. She belonged to the Dutch Valley Methodist Church Women?s Society of Christian Service (WSCS) and also supported Dutch Valley PTA and Dutch Valley Community Club.

Preceded in death by parents Laura and Roy Denny, husband Fletcher Franklin Dail, a longtime educator in Anderson County and principal of Dutch Valley Elementary. Also preceded by brothers Kurtz, Kenneth, Robert and George Denny, sister-in-law Lena Dail, brother-in-law Ralph Shanlever and nephew Jimmy Shanlever. Survived by sister Dorothy Katherine Denny Shanlever and nephews Raymond and Roy Shanlever.

Thelma Dail will be greatly missed by her sister and nephews and families and extended family members Teresa and David Hackworth, Janis and Roger Bishop, Dianne Hackworth, Peggy and Marshall Hackworth, and Ruth Rapier.

Mrs. Dail will lie in state at Dutch Valley United Methodist Church Tuesday, April 20 at 1:00 pm. A service will follow in the church with burial at Dutch Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN in charge of all arrangements.
