Affectionately known as Mama T or TP, Teresa closed her eyes on this earth to open them and see the face of her Savior, Jesus Christ on March 16, 2026.
She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her caring, giving, and selfless spirit. Guided by a strong and unwavering faith, she was a faithful member of Main Street Baptist Church, and lived a godly life that reflected kindness, compassion, and grace. She had a deep love for the town of Clinton and was a passionate advocate for its children, always striving to protect, uplift, and support them. A bright light to so many, her warmth and generosity touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, JB and Aileen Portwood; grandparents, Hub and Gypsy Lay and Arthur and Minnie Portwood; as well as many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her most loving daughter, of whom she is most proud, Magan Stout Crawford (Maurice); two nephews whom she considered her own, Cameron Grey Portwood (Kendra) and Marshall Ryan Portwood (Eryn) and their children whom Teresa called her "Littles" – Aidan, Kane, and Rheya; brother, Steve Portwood; aunt, Judy Melton (Clifton); uncle, Alfred Fraker (Norma); cousins, Lori Adkins (Ronnie), Darla Williams (Joe), Sharon Moore (Sam), Devin Portwood (Kathy), Susan Lehman (Jim), Lesa Fraker (Bill Kotsch).
Sisters from the heart: Teresa Schlandt, Micki Stair Dalton, Kathy Jenkins Martin, Peggy Tiller Hughes, Judy Bates, Becky Fox Grubb, and Terry Smith McFalls.
Special Families: Susan, Joey, Caroline and Bennett Smith as well as Hannah, Chris, and Hazel Fox.
Pallbearers:
Russell Brown, Rodney Williams, Mark Horton, Steve Rice, David Stout, Stanley Grubb, Bryan Brown, and Joey Smith.
Services are as follows:
Visitation: Friday, March 20, 2026, at Main Street Baptist Church (Rocky Top, TN) from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Funeral Service: Following the visitation at 7:00 PM
Graveside Service: Friends and family will meet at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 21, 2026, for a graveside service at 11:00 AM.
