Obituary


Harley "Steve" Burress, age 60 of LaFollette passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 21, 2013 after fighting a 2 year battle with cancer. He was a member of Carroll Hollow Baptist Church in Clinton. He was employed by Coca-Cola Enterprises for 34 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Right. Steve enjoyed working on cars, trucks, and lawnmowers; but above that he loved talking with his family and friends, particularly spoiling his four granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Cordelia Burress of Oak Grove, TN; sister Jeanetta Stewart of Cincinnati, OH; and brother Ralph Burress of Cincinnati, OH.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sandy Burress of LaFollette; daughter Amanda Allred and husband Patrick Allred of Clinton; son Todd Burress and wife Patricia (Trish) Burress of Caryville; and his four princesses - Shelby & Haidyn Allred; Tessa & Terra Burress.

and countless nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

He will be greatly missed!

The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 5-8Pm with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with Pastor David Crowe and Pastor Jim Burris officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10:30AM and go in funeral procession to the Oak Grove Cemetery for a 11:00AM interment.
