Shirley Scruggs, age 86 of Clinton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Shirley was born on June 28, 1938, in Drakesboro, Kentucky to the late Melvin and Verda Reeves. She lived a life dedicated to her faith which was evident in her long-standing membership at Bethel Baptist Church. There, she was also a member of the kitchen committee where she would prepare meals for others, reflecting her servant's heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Scruggs; parents, Melvin and Verda Reeves; daughter, Cindy Carter; brother, Jerry Reeves; sister, Helen Reeves.

Survivors include her son, Donnie Scruggs and wife Sherri; grandchildren, Farrah Stooksbury and husband Danny, Chris Weaver, Patience Marcum and husband Tim, Zach Scruggs and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jackson Stooksbury, AnnaLia Stooksbury, Ainsley Marcum, Finley Marcum, and Allie Scruggs; sister-in-law, Mary Lowe; brother-in-law, Kenneth Scruggs. Also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends who Shirley loved dearly.

Receiving of friends will be from 4-6 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton and funeral service will begin at 6 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Norris Memorial Gardens.
