Sherrie Rebecca Carter, age 61, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 4, 2024.  She was a member of Tekoa Baptist Church and grew up in the Karns Community before moving to Powell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William K. Carter and Cleva Marie (Long) Carter, and grandparents, Lonnie and Morean Carter and Dorsey and Flonnie Long.

She is survived by her children, Joshua I. Carter, Ashton Marie Carter, Carmen Hurd, and Jack Hahn; grandchildren, Ace I Carter and Layla Smith; siblings, Vickie and husband Mitchell Shoffner, Ken Carter, Chris Carter, and Erica and husband Chris Nichols; nieces and nephews, Jessica and Josh Norris, and Katie Shoffner; many extended friends and family.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Black Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Denny Ford officiating.  Her graveside will follow at Black Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  holleygamble.com
