Shelby Lucas Drinkwater, age 84, of Clinton passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.  She was born June 26, 1940 in Dungannnon, Virginia. She graduated in 1957 from Dungannon High School. Throughout her life she loved being outdoors and flowering.

Shelby's steadfast love for her husband, Watson Drinkwater III, was a radiant example of devotion, as she cherished him for over 60 beautiful years until his passing in March 2024. Her boundless love for everyone and her refusal to complain were testaments to her uplifting spirit. Shelby cherished spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Watson Drinkwater III; her parents, Grover and Edna Lucas; and brother, Kenneth Lucas.

She is survived by her son, Richard Drinkwater; her sister, Carol Lucas of Dungannon, VA; and a host of cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.  Her graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  Holleygamble.com
