Obituary


Ruth Davis Plyman, age 107, of Clinton, went to see her Savior and join her family that preceded her on March 30, 2016. She was born November 15, 1908 in Ashford, NC to the late Melvin and Maggie McCall. She graduated from Wheat High School in 1928 and worked for Magnet Mills for 20 years until it closed in 1963 as a finishing instructor. Ruth was a very active lady, driving until she was a 101 and mowed her yard until she was 102. She always enjoyed working in her yard and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves. Her motto was "Trust in the Lord and stay busy" and she would always reply "I'm okay, don't worry about me". She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Plyman; sons, C.L. Davis and Frank Davis.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Peggy Lou Trumble and husband George
Son: Allen M. Davis and wife Shirley
Grandchildren: Linda Davis Duke and husband James, Will Davis, David Davis, Michelle Davis, Patty Hoffman and husband Dan, Terri Cook, Cheryl O'Reilly and husband Bob, Jerry Webb and wife Andrea.
Great grandchildren: Holly Marie Capps, Nick Hoffman, Jamie Hoffman, Bryan Young and wife Rachel, Erin Cook, and Tracey Cook.
Great, great grandchild: Harper Young
The family will receive friends Friday, April 1st, from 5-7 P.M. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow. Family will meet Saturday, April 2nd at 4:00 P.M. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for private graveside service.
