Ruth Conner Henderson, a resident of Oak Ridge for generations, passed peacefully into eternal glory on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the age of 100 years. Her extraordinary century of life was marked by unwavering faith, devoted service, and a profound love for family and community.

For many years, Ruth shaped young minds as an Educator with Sevier County Schools and later Anderson County Schools. Yet her most significant influence extended far beyond academic walls. Her steadfast Christian faith served as the cornerstone of her character, and she was a longtime devoted member of Robertsville Baptist Church. Ruth was a fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, especially the Lady Vols, and enjoyed reading and gardening. Above all, she cherished each moment spent with her grandbabies.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Hugh Francis Henderson, along with her siblings, Jack and Jean Conner. She is survived by her sons Rick (Pam), Dave (Rachael), and Steve (Jeanne); her daughter Jeanie (Larry) Brakebill; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Ruth will be laid to rest at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
