Ruth Baird, age 84, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Summit View Nursing Home in Lake City. Ruth was born on September 16, 1927 to the late Clyde and Cora Lee Hatmaker Vandergriff in Anderson Co., TN. She was a member of the Tennessee Hollow Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and also cooked at the Lamb's Inn restaurant for many years. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by Husband, Amos Baird Sr.; Son, Amos Baird Jr.; Bother, Harman Vandergriff; Brother-In-Law, Rev. Verlin Phillips.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM with the funeral service to follow at 7:00PM with the Rev. Charles Harness officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 1:30PM and go in funeral procession to the Foust Cemetery in Lake City for a 2:00PM interment.
