Rubye Graham Overton, age 84, died peacefully early Thursday morning, May 20, 2010, surrounded by all her children and all her grandchildren in the Clinton residence in which she was born. Rubye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her many passions included her rosebushes, her garden, her animals, and her family. Besides working diligently as a mother, Rubye was also a gifted and caring industrial nurse at Dempsters Brothers. She taught, comforted, fed, and cared her way into many hearts and memories. She is a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her three doting older brothers - Randolph, Paul, and Basil Graham. She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Overton to whom she was married 65 years. She is also survived by her children, Larry and Nancy Overton, Phyllis and Jack Copeland, David Overton and Janice Branson and by her four grandchildren, their spouses and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 5:30 - 7:30PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service to follow with Rev. Larry Overton, Jr. officiating.

Family & friends will meet on Saturday, May 22nd at 2:00PM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for graveside services. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements
