Long time Oak Ridge resident, and New York native, Ronald Charles Haese, 81, passed away quietly at home, March 13th with his wife Nancy at his side. He had suffered for years from Parkinson's disease, which took the things he loved to do and ultimately his life.
Before his illness, Ron enjoyed years of his favorite activities; which included, restoring old cars, NASCAR racing, working outdoors and riding motorcycles. Ron was a friend to all he came in contact with even his puppies that he and his wife Nancy raised.
Ronald was born on July 28, 1932 in Buffalo, NY. He and his family moved to Oak Ridge in 1945. After graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1950, he joined the Navy, serving 4 years on the destroyer, USS Brinkley Bass DD-887. After the Navy, he returned home to attend The University of Tennessee graduating in engineering. He worked and retired from the three DOE facilities in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by; his parents Louis and Grace Haese and son Gregory Haese. He is survived by his wife Nancy Ann Haese; daughter Deborah Haese Wallace; son Kenneth and wife Ann Marie; Grandchildren Shayla Haese, Brittany Haese and Tommy Wallace; step-children Debra Case Armstrong and Mark Case and wife Cristal; step-grandsons Matthew and Drew Armstrong; and a great granddaughter Lana Haese. Other survivors are; sister Louise Haese; brother Russell Haese and wife Sue, Randy Haese and wife Judy.
Ron will long be remembered by his many friends in the Oak Ridge area. He was a loving, energetic, and active member of the community and his presence will be missed by all who were blessed to have known and loved him.
Ron requested to the family that there be no formal service or gathering of friends or family. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations to the Parkinson's Foundation for research.
