Roger Ward, age 83, of Clinton, TN passed away on February 11, 2015. He was the son of the late Jesse and Tina Ward (nee Kisemore), a Clinton native and a Clinton High School graduate.
Roger worked at Union Carbide in Oak Ridge from 1956 to 1966 before taking a position with the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in Saudi Arabia, and then Exxon in Libya. After 18 years in the Middle East, he retired at age 53 to New Smyrna Beach, FL where he pursued golf and other interests. He returned to Clinton in 2007.
Roger served in the Navy during the Korean War and loved to tell stories about his experiences. He also enjoyed researching and documenting the Ward family ancestry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton and a loving and supportive husband and father.
Roger is survived by his wife Peggy Ward (nee Sills), his daughter Cheryl Ward and her husband Glen Vasquez, brother Herbert Ward and his wife Chloe Ann, and two nephews, one niece, their children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roger's name to The Shepherd's Table at First Baptist Church of Clinton, 225 North Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716 would be appreciated.
Receiving of friends will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. www.holleygamblefh.com
