Rodney Michael Holbrook, age 65, passed away on October 5th, 2024, in Clinton. While his family is devastated by our loss, he left us with a lifetime of happy memories.
Rodney loved cars, UT football, his family and friends. His personality drew people to him making him the ultimate businessman, and built lasting friendships everywhere he went. He was an enthusiastic participant in his two daughters' school and sports events. He knew how to throw a party, from hosting epic tailgate events at UT games to going all in at his children's and grandchildren's celebrations and beach trips. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. He was a Mason and served as Past Master (President) of alpha lodge number 376.
Rod excelled as a current Business Development Manager at Frank Winston Crum Insurance covering Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama with his years of experience in the insurance and automotive industries. He grew up working in his family's car business, Holbrook Motors, Inc, graduating from General Motors Institute before managing the GMC truck, Subaru, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Delorean, and Budget Rent A Car franchises and appraising pre-owned cars for 19 years. He could drive and repair any type of vehicle. His interests then expanded to insurance where he worked at Appalachian Underwriters for 9 years. His interests further expanded to becoming an area sales manager for Single Source.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edward Holbrook, and his special uncle Charlie Meade. He is survived by his mother, Maxine; his loving wife of over 44 years, Sonya; their two daughters Ashley (Nick) Chipman, Stefanie (fiancé Jermaine Shephard) Holbrook; grandchildren Addison and Conner Chipman, Marlee Holbrook, and Storm Shephard; his sister Stacey (Rick) Foster; special niece Shannon (David) Baker; mother in law Evalena Smith; special friends Jason, Brad, Jace Butcher; his constant companion, Joey; and so many close relatives, friends, and neighbors.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Clinton, 225 N. Main Street, on Friday, October 11th, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A Masonic service will follow at 6:15pm. A private graveside service will be led by Pastor Danny Chisholm on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at Sunset Cemetery.
