Robert F. Stone, age 84, of Clinton, passed away September 30, 2015 under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family. Mr. Stone was born in 1931 in Eagan, TN. He was retired from ORNL, where he worked as an electrician and electrical foreman. Mr. Stone was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 760 and a 50 year member of Faith Lodge #756 in Oak Ridge, TN. He was a long standing member of New Salem Baptist Church in Clinton. Mr. Stone graduated from ORHS in 1949, served his country as a US Marine during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his wife, Emily Stone; parents, Wilma and O.D. Stone and his brother-in-law, William Hayworth. Mr. Stone is survived by daughter, Robin Stone Peterson and her husband Carl of Wesley Chapel, FL; daughter, Angela Stone of Spring Hill, FL; granddaughter; Aleisha McKeeby and husband Michael of Longwood, FL; grandson, Robert Luke Peterson of Wesley Chapel, FL; sisters, Joyce Gragg and husband Frank of OR and Mary Ruth Hayworth of Sparta, GA; brother, Ronnie Stone and wife Ellen of Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, whom he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends 4:30-7:00PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at New Salem Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 7:00PM with Rev. Kenny Rains officiating. Interment will be at 2:00PM on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Anderson Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Building Fund, 1030 Oak Ridge Hwy, Clinton, TN 37716 or Faith Lodge Hospitality House in Oak Ridge.
