Robert Gerald Riggs, age 86, of Clinton, passed away on August 3, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Alpha Lodge #376, F&AM, Knoxville Scottish Rite, Clinch Valley Shrine Club, Kerbela Shrine Temple and the Clinton Lodge #18, I.O.O.F. He worked in Oak Ridge at K-25 and joined the Army National Guard on August 14, 1950. He served 39 years, 10 mos. and 9 days until his retirement on June 22, 1990. He then became the Anderson County Veteran's Services Officer from March 17, 1997 through September 14, 2007.
Preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Fleata M. Riggs; brother, W.C. Riggs and wife Dorothy; nephew, Gordon Riggs.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 5th from 5-7 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Donna Hester officiating. Family and friends will meet Saturday, August 6th, at 11:00 AM at Grandview Memorial Gardens for military graveside service. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
