Robert Charles Johnson, age 79 of Jacksboro, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Tennova North. Bob began his career as a scientist developing materials used by NASA. He was later Assistant Director of Surface Mining for the state of Tennessee. Following a career in coal mining, Bob pursued his lifelong passion as a nurseryman. He received his BSC degree in chemistry from UT, a MSC degree in geology from UT, and postgraduate degree in mining engineering from Colorado School of Mining.
Preceded in death by his parents Robert B. and Laura Shetterly Johnson; daughter Janet Brock; and granddaughter Zoe Johnson.
