Robert L. Daugherty, age 85, of Clinton passed away March 23, 2016, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton, where he taught Sunday school in his earlier years. Robert was a Korean War veteran, Yeoman, Third Class U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Gunston Hall (LSD-5) and later served in the National Guard. Along with his late wife, Wilma, Robert owned and operated Daugherty Furniture Store in Clinton for many years. Throughout his life he was very active in his community and was President of the Optimist Club, President of the Rotary Club, member of the Alpha Lodge 376 and a Cub Scout Master. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Bethanea Daugherty; loving wife of 64 years, Wilma J. Daugherty; son, Robert L. Daugherty, Jr.; brothers, Leo and Chester Daugherty.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Clinton- Memorial Fund.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 25th from 6-8 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Stan Elliott officiating.
