Mr. Richard Artel Brooks, ag 76 of August, GA passed away suddenly while visiting his brother on October 6, 2017. He was the son of James R. Brooks, Sr. and Telia M. Wampler Brooks. Mr. Brooks is a retired Army Veteran.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Brooks; brothers, Charles, James R., Joseph J. and Thomas Brooks and sisters, Mary Ellis and Evelyn Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, Yong Kim Brooks; sons, Richard Brooks, Jr. of Florida, Jeffrey Brooks of California and Michael Brooks of Arizona; brothers, John L. Brooks of Spring City, TN, Franklin Brooks, Sam Brooks and David Brooks all of Clinton; sisters, Anna Mae Brummett and Martha Jo Williams both of Clinton and a host of nieces nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 9, 2017 from 12-2 pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Dr. Lee Hickman officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in Pleasant View Cemetery.
