Obituary

Renate Golden, age 62 of Knoxville, peacefully passed from this life into the hands of Jesus on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Parkwest Medical Center.

Renate took great pride in her home, lovingly decorating it for every season to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. She cherished her collection of Christmas ornaments gathered over the years, a testament to her love for tradition and beauty. A passionate gardener, Renate delighted in tending to her roses and perennials, nurturing them with the same care she showed to those around her. Her affection for her pets was well known; she always had one curled up in her lap, enjoying their quiet companionship.

Above all, Renate was a devoted mother who consistently put the needs of others before her own, even in her final days. She cared deeply about family and friends, always remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions with heartfelt gestures that showed her love and thoughtfulness. Despite facing numerous health challenges and obstacles throughout her life, Renate demonstrated remarkable resilience and an unwavering spirit.

Renate is survived by her husband of 35 years, Billey W. Golden Jr.; daughter, Melanie Walker of Knoxville, TN; parents, Christian and Else Teufel of Germany; brother, Karlheinz Teufel and wife Marina of Germany; sister, Karin Teufel and companion Reinhold Schaetzlein of Germany; stepdaughters, Nathifa Walker Johnson of Georgia, Samantha Walker of Pennsylvania, Ivy Coffey and her husband Dearl Coffey Jr. of Morristown, TN; Her stepson, Billey W. Golden III and his wife Elma Golden of Basehor, KS; grandkids, Bradly Coffey, Darren Coffey, Lex Coffey, Isaiah Golden, Gavin Golden, Isabella Golden, and Noah Golden.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Lelia Lee and husband Dewy Lee of Bulls Gap, TN, Deborah Golden of New Tazewell, TN, Juanita Pannocchia and her husband Louis Pannocchia of New Tazewell, TN; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members, and special friends who she loved dearly.

Renate was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Reva Golden and Billey W. Golden Sr.; aunts, Dora Gebert and Johanna Kiel; uncles, Hans Teufel and Alfred Gebert; her niece, Casey Pannocchia and a host of other family members.

Receiving of Friends will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon with a Graveside Service to follow at 1:30 pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Mike Segers officiating.
