Regena R. Laycock Richardson, age 92, of Powell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Sacred Ground Hospice House.

Born on May 26, 1934, in Benton County, Tennessee, Regena was the cherished daughter of the late Hill Ray and Ethel Laycock, the oldest of 4 children. Regena met her husband, W. Jean Richardson, at Bethel College. They soon married, and she led the life of a preacher's wife, where they moved quite often. Regena and Jean always thought Beaver Creek was their home. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. As a devoted member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Regena faithfully served in many capacities over the years, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed.

She dedicated many years of service to Knox County Schools, where she retired as a secretary. She genuinely enjoyed her work and the relationships she built with students, teachers, and fellow staff members, leaving a lasting impression through her kindness and caring spirit.

Regena also had a lifelong passion for gardening. She was an active member of both the Garden Circle and Knoxville Area Garden Clubs.

Above all, Regena treasured her family. Whether sharing a meal, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying time together, she cherished every moment spent with those she loved. Her faith, generous heart, and joyful spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, W. Jean Richardson; sisters, Rebecca Weishuhn and Diann Jackson; brother, Dennis Laycock; and sons-in-law, Lonnie Beal and Steve Daniel.

She is survived by her daughters Sheena Beal of Powell and Jeana Daniel of White Pine; grandchildren, Jessica Daniel, Wesley Daniel & Stephanie Gama, Isaac Beal & fiancé Serena Carlyle, Skyler Daniel & wife Ronella, and Ashton Byrne & husband Steve; great-grandchildren, Cooper Etheridge, Elle Etheridge, Noé Etheridge, Charlize Daniel, Amos Daniel, Marley Byrne, and Maggie Byrne; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 pm, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Rev. Thomas Sweet.
