Ray Russell, age 84 of Clinton passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at his residence. Ray was a member of Blowing Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army and Marine Corp. He retired from the City of Clinton in 1993 as the Clinton Fire Chief. After his retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time on Norris Lake, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them play ball. Ray was born February 3, 1932 in Anderson County to the late John H. & Florence Vann Russell. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Harber; son-in-law, Randy Harber; son, Kenny Ray Russell; brothers, Willard & Burl Russell; sisters, Hazel Gibson & Joyce Miller.

The family will receive 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Jimmy Davison & Rev. David White officiating. Ray's graveside will be 11:00 am, Tuesday at Blowing Springs Cemetery with full military honors at graveside and officiated by Johnny Rhea.
