Phyllis Lynn Vowell, age 74 of Rocky Top, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Lafollette Medical Center. She was born on January 24, 1947 to the late Edward and Iris Fink Long in Harriman, TN. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an animal lover, and enjoyed spending time just sitting around drinking coffee. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: husband, Thomas Vowell; sister, Pat Foust; and great-grandson, Logan Leinart.

She is survived by: children, Tammy StJohn (Billy Simpson), Jerry Vowell (Deana), Daniel  Vowell (Amanda); siblings, Vickie Landrum (Wayne), Edward Long; grandchildren, Joshua Leinart (Brandi Kesterson), Jeremiah Leinart, Cody Leinart (Katrina), Christopher StJohn (Kayla Cox), Andy StJohn, Bryson Vowell, Victoria Couch (William), Betheny Vowell, and LLyssa Vowell; great-grandchildren, Luke Leinart, Ace Leinart, Walker Leinart, Layla St John, Nevaeh St John, Willow Couch, and Harper Couch.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 5-7pm with the funeral service to follow at 7pm. Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11am at the Vowell home place. www.holleygamble.com
