Obituary


Pearl Bunch Holmes age 75 of Oliver Springs lost her third battle with cancer on Friday, April 19, 2013. She left this walk of life and never looked back, as she went to receive her new body and live with the Lord in her heavenly home forever. While the family is very saddened by their loss they know that heaven gained a beautiful angel. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
Her blood ran deep orange as she was an avid UT fan especially football and men's basketball. From the blowing palm trees of the Caribbean to the sandy deserts of California she loved to travel and read. Spending time with her family, especially her precious granddaughters were of utmost importance. She was a member of the Laurel Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Pearl was born in Devonia, TN on March 19, 1938 to the late Clarence and Vadia Carroll Bunch. She was also preceded in death by brother Noah Lee and two other siblings who died at birth, brother in law Joe Duncan, father in law and mother in law Jim and Rosa Harness, nephew Todd Harness and her children's Dad "Pops" Clayton "Jack" Harness.
She is survived by daughter and son in law Brigitte and Jay Seiber, son and daughter in law Clayton Vance and Sue Jackson Harness, all of Oliver Springs. Grandchildren Vadia and Jess Gross of Lake City, Nathan and Jessica Jackson of Heiskell and Cole Jackson of the US Coast Guard, West Palm Beach, FL. Great-granddaughters Anne Marie and Kadee Rose Gross, and Molly Ann Jackson. A sister whom she loved dearly, June Bunch Duncan of Briceville. Sisters in law and brothers in law Marge Harness of Redondo Beach CA, Claiborne and June Harness of Brunswick, OH, Cliff and Kay Harness of Lake City, special brother in law and sisters in law Clifford and Norma Harness of Briceville and Betty H Davis of Knoxville. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Joey, Donnie, Chris, DeAnna, Lindsay, Rachel, Martha, Lee Anne and Daniel. She also leaves behind her best friend Ginger Smiddy of Briceville along with her cat Smokey and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. David White and Brother Audry Goins officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:15AM and go in funeral procession to the Laurel Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery for a 12:00 -Noon interment.You may view Pearl's guestbook online at www.holleygamblefh.com.
