Patty Lou Whary Kahler, born May 27, 1930 in Lewistown, PA, passed away unexpectedly June 25, 2016. She was preceded in death by parents Kimber and Ada Whary, three brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd H. Kahler of Knoxville; daughter Kathy Cropley of Clinton, daughter Sue Case and son-in-law, Mark of Dayton, OH; son Thomas Kahler of Clinton; granddaughter Amy Petty of Edgewater, FL; great granddaughters, Abigayle Petty of Knoxville, Katelyn Petty of Clinton, and Miranda Petty of Edgewater, FL; grandson, Nathan Case, spouse Adrienne and great granddaughter Vivian of Huber Heights, OH; brother-in-law, Richard Kahler of Lewistown, PA and family; brother-in-law, James Harshbarger of Wilmington, NC and family; sister-in-law, Joan Johnson of Live Oak, FL and family; brother-in-law, Larry Kratzer of Lewistown, PA and family; nephew, Dave Sigler of Bellville, PA; niece, Nadine Santalucia of Williamsport, PA; nieces and spouses, Judy and Bill Trimble, Linda and John Ames, niece Sue Castro, along with extended member of the Castro family of Harrisburg, PA, and special family members Dino Bonaventura of Edgewater, FL and Ben Jones of Clinton.
After raising a family she volunteered to establish a Head Start program in Briceville, TN, worked as an Executive Secretary for the Principal of Halls High School, and over twenty years as a Loan Officer and Assistant Manager at the Bank of America. She was a long-time member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Clinton, TN.
Pat was person of exceptional kindness, patience, and grace who spent all her life putting others before self. To family, friends, and the community her loss is immeasurable, but we take solace and comfort knowing she's now in God's Kingdom where our souls will one day meet again and rejoice together in eternal love and peace. To the World she was a Mother, but to her Family she was the World.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 252 North Main St. Clinton, TN 37716. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30th, from 5-7PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, 621 S. Charles G.
