Patsy Sue Whaley Berney, of Heiskell, TN, passed away at age 81 on Saturday, May 17, 2014. She was born November 30, 1932 in Cookeville, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Elmer Eugene (Gene) Berney Jr.; her parents, Gibson Newell Whaley and Anna Anderson Whaley; half- brother Jack Whaley. She is survived by her son, Scott Casey Berney and Michael Turner; daughter, Kelley Allison Ilagan and Edwin Ilagan; brother and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patsy was a lifetime member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church of Heiskell, where she led the Ladies Auxiliary, was a Sunday School Teacher and member of the choir. She was a graduate of Norris High School, Knoxville Business College and employed by M.F. Flenniken & Company.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 20th from 6:30-8:30PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 21st at 12:00PM at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church in Heiskell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
