Patricia (Pat) Solomon Hughes, age 90 of Clinton Tennessee, passed away on November 19, 2025. Pat was born on June 27, 1935 in Whitesburg Tennessee to Ralph and Flora Solomon. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1953 and was married to Hugo K. Hughes in 1954. Pat worked for the Department of Energy for 50 years. She loved quilting, gardening, and spending time with family.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Hugo Hughes; her parents, Ralph and Flora Solomon; sisters Charlcie Baker, Margaret O'Neil, Josephine Robinson and Mary Alice Guy; and brothers Jack and Francis Solomon. Pat lost her father when she was six years old leaving her mother to provide for the family. She and her sister, Mary Alice, the two youngest of the seven children, moved to Grandfather Home for Children in Banner Elk, North Carolina where she lived until she was in high school and moved to Oak Ridge to live with her sister, Jo.
The immediate family will hold a private service at a later date. Instead of attending memorial service for Pat, the family asks that you honor her memory by visiting a loved one in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Pat spent the last four years at Meadow View Senior Living in Clinton, Tennessee and the family is grateful to the wonderful staff there who provided such loving care and made her last years easier.
