Patrice Anne
Kile
Dec 6, 1946 — Aug 17, 2018
Oak Ridge
Patrice Anne Kile, 71 years old, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, following a lengthy illness.
Patrice was the oldest of seven children born to Dr. James C. Kile, Jr. and Grace Spengler Kile, who preceded her in death. Patrice was born on December 6, 1946 in Oak Ridge, TN, and grew up on the Kile family farm just outside of Oak Ridge, where she spent many hours riding horses and developing an interest in thoroughbred racing. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Girl Scouts, and the Swank-Ettes of Oak Ridge High School, where she graduated with the class of 1964.
In 1969, Patrice graduated from Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. During her time in college, she began her life-long love of all things Cincinnati, especially her beloved Bengals. During her work career there, Patrice especially enjoyed her chemistry research with product development at Procter and Gamble. In addition to following local sports, Patrice could be found walking her cat through the neighborhood, antique hunting, driving her gray Chevy Camaro, or fixing the tastiest fudge in the city. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US, with a special interest in visiting western states and enjoying beach trips with her friends.
In addition to her parents, Patrice was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Adair Hotchkiss. She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Debbie Hotchkiss of Oak Ridge, TN; Dorn Kile (Laura) of Clinton, TN; Kathleen Cullen (Jim) of Cypress, TX; Dr. James C. Kile, III (Tram) of Decatur, GA; Kevin Kile of Marietta, GA; and Carolyn Thomas (David) of Peachtree City, GA. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and great nephews.
We would like to thank the staff of Victorian Square in Rockwood, TN, for the loving care they have provided Patrice for many years.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org) or a charity of your choice.
A family graveside service will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Friday, August 24, 2018. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamble.com
