Oral Potter, age 81 of Rocky Top, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born on January 18, 1936 to the late Henry and Martha Howard Potter in Jackson, KY. He was a successful businessman who owned several service stations during his lifetime. He enjoyed farming and tending his cattle. He loved his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a giving man who loved life and loved people. He was of the Baptist faith and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Granville Potter, Cecil Potter, Patrick Potter, J.B. Potter, and Freeman Potter.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6-8pm. His funeral service will be on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11am with the Dr. Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will follow his funeral at the Indian Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery. www.holleygamble.com
