Obituary


Nola Wilson Howard, age 76 of Clinton passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at Briarcliff Healthcare Center in Oak Ridge. She was born August 2, 1934 in Dutch Valley and was a life-long resident of Anderson County. She was a faithful member of Cherry Bottom Baptist Church where she attended as long as able. Nola was married December 6, 1952 in Anderson County to Rev. Berl J. Howard and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. She was an excellent seamstress and she and her sister owned and operated Nola & Glenna Upholstery in the Marlow Community for over 30 years. She was a loving devoted wife, special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed going to flea markets as long as she was able with special friend, Maggie.

She was preceded in death by parents, Oscar Wilson and Martha Delberta Long Wilson; sisters, Betty Ruth Wilson, Jewel Gouge, Patricia Ann Wilson; brothers, Rev. Bill Wilson and Robert "Bob" Wilson; brothers-in-law, Robert Lee, Carlos Johnson, Phillip Taylor; sister-in-law, Maggie Lackey Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral at 8:00PM with Rev. Clifford Fraker & Rev. David Walker officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 5th at 11:00AM at Long Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements
