Myra "Betsy" Smith Coggins born 09/27/1934 passed to her Heavenly Home Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 3:20 p.m. EST.

She was born in Lenoir City, Tennessee and has lived in the Claxton community since 1968 where she raised 3 children Steven "Stevie" Coggins of Oak Ridge, TN, Andrew "Andy" Coggins (married to Deborah Coggins) of Claxton, TN and Melissa "Missi" Coggins Pierce (married to Kirk Pierce) of Manchester, TN with her late husband, William "Larry" Coggins who passed to his Heavenly Home 01/11/1999.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hobart Alexander Smith of Jonesorough, TN and Margarete Emmaline Cornett Smith of Philladelphia, TN.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kyle Smith. Her sister Joyce Smith Dunblazier resides in Galesburg, Illinois.

She has 3 grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Andrew "AJ" Coggins (married to Mandy Coggins) and Ashley Coggins both of Claxton and Samantha Pierce of Manchester, TN.

She has 1 great grandson, Anton Coggins.

Myra "Betsy" served both her church and community in various roles since 1968. She is loved by many a former student at Claxton Elementary where she subbed. She volunteered at Methodist Medical Center. She was very active with the Claxton Optomist serving on many boards for football, cheerleading, baseball and softball. She had a great love for singing and worshipping her Lord and Savior. Among the many roles she played at Christus Victor her most precious memories come from serving the Lord with her voice in the choir.
