"Millard D. Manry went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2011, his 89th birthday. Though born in Athens, TN, Millard was a resident of Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mary Manry of Athens and siblings Hillard and Beatrice. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, and daughter, Connie Danahoo of Jacksonville, FL; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Lynn Cunningham of Knoxville, TN. Surviving grandchildren include granddaughter TeNeah Kindel and her husband Danny along with great granddaughter Taylor Newsom of Orange Park, FL; granddaughter DeLisa Fellows and her husband Curtis along with great grandchildren Anniston and Curtis Jr. of Middleburg, FL; and grandson Michael Cunningham and his wife Christie of Powell, TN.

An army veteran of War World II, Millard served in Company B before being injured in combat and receiving the Purple Heart. In service, he earned the nickname "Tuffy" due to his aggressiveness when needing to make a point. A lover of sports, Millard had dreamed of playing Major League Baseball before he was wounded in service.

Millard was a respected accountant for K-25/Union Carbide for over 30 years before he retired in 1983. After his retirement, he loved to work crossword puzzles and spend time with his wife and family. He was a kind, loving, and sharing individual who loved the Lord and his family and never hesitated to give of himself to any in need. Millard was a faithful member of Farmer's Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, TN.

Friends will be received at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN on March 30th from 6-8PM with services afterward. Graveside will be held at Farmer's Grove Cemetery the following morning, March 31st at 10AM."
