Rev Michael Owen Nelson, age 71 of Clinton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.  Michael was a Baptist Preacher who dedicated his life to serving the Lord, ministering to lost souls, and leading them to salvation. He loved a family get-together, eating sweets, listening to music, and talking on the phone. He had a sense of humor that had everyone around him laughing. In the words of his late wife, "that nut" is always doing something crazy.  Michael was a retired auto mechanic who could diagnose and fix a car over the phone.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Ruby Nelson, wife of 54 years, Ailene Nelson, son Jeff Nelson, and brother Pat Nelson.

He is survived by his caregiver's daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jamey Roberts; brother, Paul Nelson; his grandson McKenzie Hogan; granddaughter whom he loved to aggravate and go to country music concerts with, Sarah Hogan; great-grandchildren Wesley Townsend (whom he called his right-hand man and church going buddy), Decker, and Ridley Gilbert; Special friends Leo Elliott, Kenny Morris, and Steve Gilbert.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Farmer's Grove Baptist Church, with his funeral service to follow.
