Maxine W. MacKinnon, 87, passed away with her family by her side on September 16, 2012, in Knoxville, Tennessee, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on November 23, 1924, in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to Mayme Grace and Winfield Scott Wilson. She was one of seven children; five brothers and one sister. She was married to the late Donald MacKinnon, Jr. and they resided in Hamilton, Ohio. She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Home Economics. She taught for 14 years at Harding Junior High School and Garfield Senior High School in Butler County, Ohio. She was well known for her gourmet cooking and loved especially to cook for family and friends. Other interests included playing tennis, sewing and decorating her home. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Chris Alsop, her daughter, Holly Loeffler, and her son, Donald MacKinnon, III; grandchildren, Heather and husband Chase Kibler, Alison and husband Dr. Steven Elliott, Christopher Loeffler and wife, Stephanie Jackson, and Meredith Loeffler; great grandchildren, Caroline Elliott, Camille Elliott, William Kibler, and Matthew Kibler; siblings Wanda and husband John Miller, John Wilson and Bill Wilson.
