Obituary

Maurice Denham Reaves, 84, of Anderson County passed away on March 22, 2025. Although he was beloved in Anderson County, Denham was born and raised in Harlan County, Kentucky and was proud of his roots. He worked many years in finance for General Electric and as a credit manager for Stowers Caterpillar and Nixon Machinery. In later years, he and his wife formed Reaves Inspection Services where they did residential house inspection across South East Tennessee. He was a beloved member of his community and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting guns and knives. He also loved his early morning coffee talks at Hardee's where you could find him sharing stories or jokes. He often said he met his friends there to solve all the world's problems. In his later years, Denham also worked for Anderson County Schools where he touched many lives as a substitute teacher. He enjoyed substituting and often enriched the lives of every student that entered his classroom.

Denham was preceded in death by his parents, Huelett and Lorene Reaves, and his loving wife of fifty-three years, Jenni Reaves.

Survivors include: Daughters, Stacey and Greg Walker, & Lisa Reaves. Grandchildren, Nicholas and Whitney Walker, Jessica and Alex Farmer, Travis and Megan Walker, Shelby and Nolan Thomas, Jacob Wheeler, and Mollie Wheeler. Great- grandchildren, Fay, Denham, and Beau Walker, Logan Walker, Coleson Walker, Ginny Thomas, and best friend Ross Butry.
