Obituary

Mary Lou Parrott (91) went to be with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life, Nolan Parrott on June 14, 2025. Mary Lou worked at Top Value Stamps for 15 years before they closed. She was the oldest member of Edgemoor Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Edgemoor 39ers and a member to the quilters. She loved her church family and lived for the Lord. She also was an avid crocheter. She has given everyone in her life a crocheted afghan, approximately 500 afghans where handed out with love. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds and squirrels play in Nolan's walnut trees. Most of all she enjoyed eating her ice cream. She was born in Morristown, TN.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nolan Parrott, of 65 years; this was truly a marriage made in Heaven. Also, her parents, Ernest and Vaudie Wallace, brothers, Alfred Tate (A.T.) and Jr. Wallace, and son-in-law, Jimmy Lee Silcox.

She is survived by her 3 children, Kathie Hensley (Mike), Dr. Tim Parrott (Rachel), and Debbie Silcox. Her grandkids- Amber Pebley (Bo), Eric Hensley (Niki), Amanda Godsey (Brandon), Matthew Parrott (Jocelyn), Gary Monday (Tamra), Jimmy Allan Silcox (Sarah), Travis Silcox (Amanda), and Heather Porter (Nathan). She also had 21 great-grandkids. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jo Lauredine, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family would like to say special thanks to Andrea Baxley (Wound Care NP), Dr. Melody Tharp, and Amedisys Home Health.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 1:30 to 3:30 at Edgemoor Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm. Her graveside will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to The Education Foundation/Teacher Depot at https://www.theeducationfoundation.info.
