Mary Kathern (Kate) Burnside Hale, age 86, passed away on December 27, 2025.  She was born on September 9, 1939, to the late Oakey and Florence Burnside.  She grew up in Middlesboro, KY, with her three brothers and two sisters. She and her husband, Tony Hale, have been married for 58 years.  Kate was the resident hairdresser in Andersonville for many years before teaching Cosmetology at North Knox Vocational School in Halls, and then retired.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Hale; three brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Scott Hale & wife Cindy of Andersonville, Lora Treece & Danny of Clinton; grandchildren, Chad Hale & wife Nikki of Clinton, Cayci Perry & husband Daniel of Chattanooga, and Jonathan Treece & wife Sarah of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Byzen & Brylee Hale of Clinton and Claire Perry of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Patty Burnside of Middlesboro, KY, Katherine Riddle & Rita Coker of Maryville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kate's graveside service will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Norris Memorial Garden.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.  Holleygamble.com
