Mary Elizabeth Cate, of Powell, passed away on July 7, 2025 at her home. She was born May 10, 1943 in Anderson County, Tennessee to Joe and Elizabeth Moore. Mary was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cecil Cate; 2 sons, Darryl and Bruce Cate; several nieces and nephews.

The Cate family will receive friends from 6-7 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
